Food Grade CO₂
It is very important to have the appropriate purity for food and beverage CO₂. Our CO₂ is tested on a daily basis to ensure a high-quality product is offered to our clients. Our association is following ISO standards supervised by UNION, which is one of the main suppliers of CO₂ globally.

Carbon Dioxide is the essential ingredient for the sparkle in your carbonated beverages. A natural anti-microbial, carbon dioxide is also used to increase the shelf life of juice and dairy products — protecting taste and texture and reducing the need for preservatives. Additionally, we possess cylinder filling systems that can be used for fire extinguishers and welding.

We produce up to 72m3 (Long tons) of CO₂ per day.

What is Carbon Dioxide?

Carbon Dioxide (CO₂) is a chemical compound composed of two oxygen atoms covalently bonded to a single atom, it is a gas at standard temperature and pressure, and it exists in Earth's atmosphere state. CO₂ is a trace gas being only 0.038% of the atmosphere.
CO₂ is used by planets photosynthesis to make sugars, which may either be consumed in respiration or used as raw material to produce other organic compounds needed for plant growth and development.

Carbon Dioxide has no liquid state at pressures below 5.1 atmospheres. At 1 atmosphere (near mean sea level pressure), the gas deposits directly to a solid at temperatures below −78 °C (−108.4 °F; 195.1 K), and the solid sublimes directly to gas above −78 °C. In its solid state, carbon dioxide is commonly called Dry Ice.

Dry Ice
Arvand Gas supplies food-grade Dry Ice blocks, dispatched in polystyrene containers. We offer all different sizes of blocks from 20mm to 120mm. We can also offer our customers slices. (As these are manufactured, to order we do require several days' notice.)


What is Dry Ice?
Dry Ice is the solid form of frozen carbon dioxide (CO₂), it is mainly used as a cooling agent where refrigeration equipment is not partial. Dry ice temperature is lower than that of water ice without leaving any residue (other than casual frost from moisture in the atmosphere), it is highly effective and applied for preserving frozen foods, ice cream, etc.

CO₂ Dry Ice deposition occurs at −78.5 °C (−109.3 °F), one of its features is sublimation, where it can change from solid-state to the gas state with no intervening liquid form. This makes CO₂ the most suitable material for cleaning different surfaces without abrasion, moisture, and waste, as well as cold chain transportation. Dry ice ensures products are preserved in a cold dry atmosphere with minimal chance of spoilage due to moisture or high temperatures.

How Long Does It Last?

It depends! 10kg can be used within minutes if added to hot water to create the large-scale effect. However, for smaller more subtle effects the dry ice can last for hours. For a longer period, we advise storing Dry Ice in a cold location.
Pellets
A different form of Dry Ice is used in medical procedures and also it is the most effective method for cleaning heavy industry machinery with Ice blasting mechanisms. This procedure has been proven to be a more efficient and less polluting method than commonly used sandblasting.
We produce pellets in 3 different sizes; they are 3mm, 9mm, and 16mm.
